BLACKBOARD 9
With the start of the Fall 2009 semester, WebCT CE 4.1 was rebranded with the Blackboard logo. This change occurred due to normal software maintenance delivered from Blackboard (owners of the WebCT product since 2006). Under Blackboard, WebCT products are now known as the Blackboard Learning System. No major product functionality changes have occurred; WEB CT CE 4.1 is still the active YSU System and will remain so through July 2010.
Implementation has begun on Blackboard's newest product, Blackboard 9. Blackboard 9 will run concurrent with WebCT CE through July 2010 after which time Blackboard 9 will be the system standard at YSU. Blackboard 9 is the first product since Blackboard's acquisition of WebCT to combine the features of the Blackboard Academic Suite and WebCT CE. Additional communications regarding training, migration and support assistance for the upgrade to Blackboard 9 will follow.
